Privacy policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

BabyRoo is designed to keep your family-planning information on your device. This policy explains what information the app stores, what happens when you choose to use online features, and how purchases and backups work.

1. Information BabyRoo stores

Depending on the features you use, BabyRoo may store the following on your device:

  • Your chosen country, preferences and app settings.
  • Items in your plan, their status (including completed or already owned), and any notes you add.
  • Budget settings and spending or purchase details you enter.
  • Immunisation records and dates you enter for Parent-1, Parent-2 and your child.
  • Saved retailer offers or product links you choose to track.
  • Cached catalogue updates and update status.
  • Reminder settings.

BabyRoo does not require you to create an account or enter names, contact details or exact birthdays to use the app. Please enter only information you consider necessary.

2. Information BabyRoo does not collect for its own server

BlackCastle Cyber Security Pty Ltd does not operate a BabyRoo account or app-data server. BabyRoo does not send your list, budget, notes, country-specific plan or immunisation records to the developer.

The app has no advertising or analytics SDK configured, and does not request GPS location or perform continuous location tracking. It does not automatically sync plans between devices.

3. Online catalogue and safety checks

The catalogues are included in the app so they can be used offline. If you enable online checks, BabyRoo may contact the developer-maintained public catalogue for the country you selected and, where supported, relevant official safety sources. Australia can also check retailer offer links you choose to monitor. UK and US safety checks are limited to certain child-product notices; other countries may provide official links without automatic feeds.

Checks may occur when you open the app, subject to a 15-minute interval, or when you request a refresh. Android may also perform best-effort background checks. Online checks can be paused or disabled in the app.

These requests do not include your private plan or immunisation record. The websites and network providers handling a request may receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address, requested URL and technical request details, and may retain their own logs under their policies. If you open a retailer or other external link, that website receives the information normally associated with your visit.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

BabyRoo uses Apple’s App Store or Google Play to process its annual subscription. The store handles checkout and payment; BabyRoo does not receive your payment-card or bank details. The app receives the subscription product and entitlement status needed to unlock the app and restore a purchase.

Your purchase is associated with your Apple Account or Google Play account and is governed by that store’s privacy terms. Purchases are platform-specific: an Apple subscription does not automatically transfer to Google Play, or vice versa. BabyRoo does not operate an account service to link subscriptions across platforms.

5. Storage and security

BabyRoo encrypts its local app data using keys protected by Android Keystore on Android and Apple Keychain on iOS. Android system app backup is disabled, and the iOS app data directory is excluded from device backup.

Encryption helps protect locally stored information, but it cannot protect against every form of device compromise. Use a device screen lock and keep your operating system up to date.

6. Backups and sharing

Backups are optional and manual. If you create one, BabyRoo encrypts it with a password before you choose where to save it using the system file picker. A cloud-drive or file-provider service you choose may see the encrypted file and its metadata, but does not receive the backup password from BabyRoo.

You need the same password to restore a backup. BabyRoo cannot recover a forgotten password. A backup saved to another device or cloud-drive location is a separate copy; deleting app data does not delete it.

If you choose to export or copy information, it is shared with the app or destination you select. That destination’s own privacy terms then apply.

7. Notifications

If you enable notifications, BabyRoo may schedule local reminders or show update notices. Notifications are handled by your device’s operating system and their visibility can depend on your device settings. You can change notification permissions in your device settings or the app.

8. Retention and deletion

Your app information remains on your device until you delete it using BabyRoo’s data controls, remove the app or lose access to the device. If you delete local app data, files you previously saved elsewhere remain in those locations and must be deleted separately.

Because the developer does not hold your private plan on a server, we cannot retrieve, correct or delete that local data for you. You can view and change information in the app. Keep a password-protected backup if you want to transfer your information to another device.

9. Children and family information

BabyRoo is intended for adults planning for or caring for a family; it is not designed as an account or service for children to use. An adult may choose to record a child’s immunisation dates. Please record information only when you are authorised to do so, and use the minimum detail you need.

10. Changes to this policy

If BabyRoo’s information-handling practices change, this policy should be updated and made available in the app and on the developer’s website.
